Let’s Help Nancy Pelosi with her Waterboarding Alibi

May 16, 2009

The Left has suggested that members of George Bush’s administration should be prosecuted for their role in sanctioning the physical coercion (waterboarding) of terrorists to extract information that could be used to prevent mass murders by other terrorists. The idea of prosecuting members of the previous Administration is highly reminiscent of Stalinist purges of previous regimes, royal families (Shakespeare’s Richard III comes to mind) who murdered every rival who might have a claim on the throne, and of course Napoleon’s extermination of Snowball’s followers in Orwell’s Animal Farm. Now, however, the Left has a serious embarrassment in the form of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the question as to what she knew about waterboarding and when she knew it. The following cartoon should help Ms. Pelosi with what was once known as the Four-Step Nuremburg War Crime Alibi.

Now, Ms. Pelosi, repeat the following:

(1) “Es geschah nicht.” (“It didn’t happen.”)
(2) “Ich wusste nicht.” (“I didn’t know.”)
(3) “Ich war nicht dort.” (“I wasn’t there.”)
(4) “Ich folgt nur Auftragen.” (“I only followed orders.”)

Nancy Pelosi’s Trillion Dollar Ego

October 1, 2008

Do Democrats still want to ask if Sarah Palin is ready to lead???

This Monday, the stock market lost a trillion dollars in market capitalization after the House of Representatives rejected bipartisan legislation to restore the flow of credit upon which American business depends. Republican and Democratic leaders had both worked to get what they expected to be enough votes from their respective parties to pass the legislation, even though many Representatives have valid misgivings about the expenditure of $700 billion to bail out private businesses. Many of their constituents do as well, and they told their Representatives. In other words, Republican and Democratic leaders had to work hard to overcome this constituent-side pressure.

Finally, all was ready. Democrats and Republicans had agreed on bipartisan legislation, and they thought they had enough votes to pass it. Then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, the individual who is but two heartbeats away from the Presidency, said this: (more…)

Did Nancy Pelosi Sabotage the U.S. Economy to Help Obama?

Pelosi’s Reichstag Fire or Liberum Veto?

On August 1, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dissolved Congress to prevent debate, let alone a vote, on repeal of laws against offshore oil exploration. Was Pelosi’s motive to deliberately damage the U.S. economy, destroy jobs, and perpetuate hardships (like high gasoline prices and high food prices) for the American middle class to get desperate Americans to vote for “change,” much as desperate Germans voted for “change” in the early 1930s?

It is well known that a bad economy works against the incumbent party. Even though Herbert Hoover did not cause the Great Depression–this was the fault of speculators who thought stock prices would rise forever, just as people recently thought that house prices and dot-com stocks would go up forever–voters blamed him because he happened to be President. The mentality is similar to that of primitive societies that blamed the king, chief, or whomever for natural disasters. Pelosi doubtlessly thinks that improvements in the economy will help McCain, so it is in her interests to sabotage the economy of the United States to prevent any improvements before Election Day.
