Stop Blaming Palin; McCain’s Campaign Dropped the Ball

November 7, 2008

Like the French generals who executed enlisted men for “cowardice” to cover up their own shortcomings during the First World War, John McCain’s campaign staff is now looking for a convenient scapegoat in the person of Governor Sarah Palin.

First and foremost, the McCain campaign selected Palin to be John McCain’s running mate. Even if the rumors are true (e.g. she thought Africa is a country as opposed to a continent, just as Joe Biden apparently thought that Franklin Roosevelt announced the Pearl Harbor attack on television), it was the staff’s job to review her credentials and those of other candidates ahead of time. If the staff failed to do so adequately, it set Palin and therefore McCain up for failure.

Second, we know of at least one dropped ball and blown opportunity. We called the McCain headquarters repeatedly to bring to its attention a letter from Hillary Clinton’s campaign counsel, Lyn Utrecht, that accused Obama of harassing, intimidating, and suppressing voters during the Nevada caucuses. We faxed and E-mailed copies of this letter to McCain headquarters, and also to some state campaign offices. Had the campaign publicized this letter’s conclusion in 30-second commercial slots, it would have utterly demolished Hillary Clinton’s new-found support for her party’s candidate while adding real flames (credible allegations of misconduct by Obama’s own campaign) to the smoke (voter registration fraud) of the ACORN controversy.

There is no place in the American electoral process for the types of voter suppression, intimidation and harassment systematically engaged in by the Obama campaign, its allies and supporters.
    Sincerely, Lyn Utrecht
    Counsel Hillary Clinton for President

While various Hillary Clinton support groups like PUMA did re-post this letter on their Web sites–the optical character transcription of the Adobe Acrobat original that we provided helped–McCain’s people did not get back to us, and they did not act on this opportunity. Like a less than diligent maintenance crew that forgets to arm a Navy warplane with a full load of missiles, or doesn’t bother to top off the fuel tanks, McCain’s people let their “pilot” down. If they continue to badmouth Sarah Palin, she should make their own shortcomings clear to the entire world.

A Song for Election Day

November 3, 2008

To the tune of “When Johnny Comes Marching Home”

When we send Barry home again, hurrah, hurrah
We’ll give him a hearty send-off then, hurrah, hurrah
The men will cheer, the boys will shout
The electorate will all turn out
And we’ll feel just great when
We’ve sent Barry home.

When Barry goes crawling home again, hurrah, hurrah
George Soros will be despondent then, hurrah, hurrah
MoveOn.org will jeer and Pelosi will pout
But we will cheer as we throw him out
And we’ll all feel great when
We’ve sent Barry home.

When we send Barry home again, hurrah, hurrah,
Wright will damn our country then, hurrah, hurrah
Jesse Jackson will “Racism!” cry
But we will laugh as we march on by
And we’ll all feel great when
We’ve sent Barry home.

When we send Barry home again, hurrah, hurrah
Osama will be in bad shape then, hurrah, hurrah
Ahmadinejad will curse his luck
Joe Biden he will pass the buck
And we’ll feel just great when
We’ve sent Barry home.

When we cross Barry from our list, hurrah, hurrah
Vladimir Putin will pound his fist, hurrah, hurrah
Hugo Chavez will shake his head
Kim Jong Il will wish he was dead
And we’ll all feel great when
Barry goes crawling home.

When we send Barry home again, hurrah, hurrah
The country will be better then, hurrah, hurrah
The Left will jeer and Commies will frown
Sharpton’s men may burn your store down*
But we’ll feel just great when
We’ve sent Barry home.

When Barry goes crawling home again, hurrah, hurrah
Hillary will get some payback then, hurrah, hurrah
Her supporters will cheer and the PUMAs will roar
Blue collar Dems will kick Barry some more
And we’ll all feel great when
We’ve sent Barry home.

When we send Barry home again, hurrah, hurrah
McCain will be President then, hurrah, hurrah
We will shout it long and we’ll shout it loud
America will always stand proud
And we’ll all feel great when
We’ve sent Barry home.

(2) “If you offer me a sack of week-old garbage, the last thing on my mind is the color of the sack.”

(4) Committed “voter suppression, harassment, and intimidation” during the Nevada caucuses, per a letter from Hillary Clinton’s campaign counsel.

o Obama’s fellow churchgoers gave this hate speech a standing ovation.
(8) Accepted a testimonial from Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright.
o The Obamas belonged to Wright’s church for 20 years, during which time it published blood libels of both the U.S. and Israel (false accusations of developing the AIDS virus and an Arab-specific “ethnic bomb” respectively) and other forms of hate speech.
(9) Solicited and accepted the endorsement of MoveOn.org, which:
o Welcomed anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic hate speech at its now-disgraced Action Forum

Obama’s Flat Out Falsehoods

October 16, 2008

Obama tells outright falsehoods during last night’s debate

A written transcript of last night’s Presidential debate proves beyond any reasonable doubt that Barack Hussein Obama is totally unworthy of trust: an outright prevaricator through and through. Let’s begin with his involvement with ACORN. During the Nuremberg trials, Nazi war criminals used the following defenses, in the following order: (1) “It didn’t happen,” (2) “All right, it happened, but I wasn’t there,” and finally, (3) “All right, I did it, but I was only following orders.” Here is what Barry told Captain (USN, retired) McCain, moderator Bob Schieffer, and the American people about an organization whose members are being indicted for, and pleading guilty to, charges of fraudulent voter registration.

Barack Obama: Now, with respect to ACORN, ACORN is a community organization. Apparently what they’ve done is they were paying people to go out and register folks, and apparently some of the people who were out there didn’t really register people, they just filled out a bunch of names. It had nothing to do with us. We were not involved. The only involvement I’ve had with ACORN was I represented them alongside the U.S. Justice Department in making Illinois implement a motor voter law that helped people get registered at DMVs.

The Duke of Wellington’s advice on the last month of the election

October 9, 2008

“Hard pounding, gentlemen: but we shall see who can pound the longest.”

The Battle of Waterloo was, in Sir Arthur Wellseley’s own words, “a close run thing.” There were many times at which it looked like a would-be dictator’s forces would overwhelm the British Army through fanaticism (attack columns chanting “Vive la France” instead of “Alpha, Omega,” as Obama’s supporters do) and sheer weight of numbers. Bernard Cornwell’s fictionalized account of Waterloo portrays Wellington as ordering the British flags taken to the rear to avoid their loss in the event of a total disaster.

The difference between Waterloo and November 4, 2008, is that the British Army could have retreated to fight the would-be dictator another day. If the self-proclaimed Messiah wins on November 4, the country will have to live with him for four years. It will not be until 2012 that the country can correct this horrific mistake, if we still have a country by then. This underscores the need to fight for every vote up to and through November 4 and, if necessary, to pursue the already numerous and credible allegations of blatant election fraud by Obama and ACORN.

The election’s outcome does not depend on the mindless fanatics (Joseph Goebbels called them collectively “the man in the streets” to whom the lowest kind of propaganda might appeal) who would vote for Obama even if they saw him step on an American flag like his friend William Ayers, but on the undecided voters who vote for the person and not the party. Once they realize that Obama is a fraud and an enabler of the worst kinds of racists, anti-Semites, Catholic-hating bigots, and self-proclaimed domestic terrorists, they will vote for “Duty, Honor, and Country”–especially the blue-collar middle-class Democrats who put our country ahead of either party. This last month will be hard pounding, but we shall indeed see who can pound the longest.

Presidential Debate: Obama Concedes Health Care Issue to McCain

September 27, 2008

It is vitally important that our readers circulate this information as widely as possible. Barack Obama, with his own words, conceded the health care reform issue to John McCain.

Just one last point I want to make, since Senator McCain talked about providing a $5,000 health credit. Now, what he doesn’t tell you is that he intends to, for the first time in history, tax health benefits.

So you may end up getting a $5,000 tax credit. Here’s the only problem: Your employer now has to pay taxes on the health care that you’re getting from your employer. And if you end up losing your health care from your employer, you’ve got to go out on the open market and try to buy it.

It is not a good deal for the American people. But it’s an example of this notion that the market can always solve everything and that the less regulation we have, the better off we’re going to be.

To begin with, Hillary Clinton’s supporters should note the similarity between the McCain plan and the Clinton plan. Per hillaryclinton.com/feature/healthcareplan/summary.aspx (still available at archive.org), (more…)

Joe Biden: Barack Obama Lacks Judgment and Maturity

September 25, 2008

Barack Obama’s own running mate, the one whose 25-plus years of legislative experience are supposed to offset the wetness behind Obama’s ears, said in effect that Obama lacks the judgment and maturity necessary to make executive decisions. “I’m Joe Biden, and I Didn’t Approve This Ad” reports,

CBS’ Katie Couric: “Are you disappointed with the tone of the campaign — the lipstick on the pig stuff and some of the ads? And you guys haven’t been completely guilt-free, making fun of John McCain’s inability to use a computer?”

Biden: “I thought that was terrible, by the way.”

Couric: “Why’d you do it then?”

Biden: “I didn’t know we did it, and if I’d had anything to do with it, we would have never done it.

Obama and the 3:00 A.M. Phone Call

September 25, 2008

Hillary Clinton asked who was better qualified to take a 3:00 A.M. phone call if the country was in trouble. We think she, like John McCain, would have suspended her Presidential campaign had she been the Democratic nominee. Barack Obama, meanwhile, showed that performance of his job (U.S. Senator) is subordinate to his Presidential aspirations per this E-mail from his campaign manager, David Plouffe. (more…)
