Militant Islam Awareness Day: September 11

September 11, 2008

Today, September 11, is Militant Islamic Awareness Day: a day to commemorate the achievements of Islamic supremacists throughout history, such as the sack of Khartoum (1885), numerous attempts to invade Europe, and of course the terrorist action that killed 3000 innocent people in 2001.

The concept of September 11 as “Militant Islam Awareness Day” comes from Islam Awareness Week, whose mockery by The Primary Source, the student newspaper at Tufts University, resulted in a Stalinist show trial and disciplinary action from the Committee on Student Life. The show trial was conducted under the supervision of Barbara Grossman, a major donor to the Democratic Party and wife of the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee. While under Professor Grossman’s supervision, another CSL member proclaimed that “Labeling Islam violent is unacceptable in any way, shape, or form.” The following image elaborates on the statement, “Labeling Islam violent is unacceptable in any way, shape, or form,” and it certainly has a lot to say about Tufts University. Tufts University Committee on Student Life Slapped Down re: Primary Source controversy

December 15, 2007

We previously reported how Tufts University’s Committee on Student Life attempted to discipline The Primary Source for condemning and ridiculing Islamic supremacism. During the hearing, it is alleged that members of the Committee on Student Life (CSL) conducted themselves with a lack of ethics, maturity, and decorum that brought discredit on themselves and Tufts University. Now, like a dirty-faced adolescent punk who has abused a position of authority over others, the CSL has been slapped down hard by Tufts’ President Lawrence Bacow. Bacow has had to step in like a father who takes the car keys away from an immature adolescent son whom he has caught weaving in and out of traffic while speeding and driving drunk in the bargain.

At Tufts, officials bar censoring of publications

By Peter Schworm, Globe Staff | August 28, 2007

Tufts University officials barred student-faculty groups yesterday from censoring campus publications, reversing a committee’s punishment of a conservative student magazine for publishing editorials that sparked cries of racism.

University officials also overturned the committee’s ruling that forced The Primary Source magazine to use bylines on all published articles and editorials, which magazine editors and free speech advocates said was akin to censorship. University officials kept in place the committee’s finding that the editorials constituted harassment.

Let’s be very blunt. Bacow’s message to the CSL is effectively, “Since you cannot be trusted to exercise your authority over students in a mature and responsible manner, that authority is being taken away from you.” Hopefully it will be a long time before the Committee on Student Life gets those car keys back.

Academic Irresponsibility, Immaturity, and Lack of Character

September 27, 2007

Many college administrators and faculty members are middle-aged adolescents who, no matter how qualified they are in their professions as academicians, are very poor behavioral role models for young men and women.

There is a very wide spectrum of misbehavior and misconduct for college faculty members and administrators. At the worst end of this spectrum, we have behavior like demanding sex from female students in exchange for higher grades, as well as academic dishonesty and research fraud. These actions are generally cause for dismissal, even for tenured faculty members. As an example, Michael Bellesiles, the author of “Arming America,” an anti-Second Amendment book that contended that firearm ownership was not common in pre-Civil War America, resigned from Emory University after a finding that he probably falsified some of the research in the book. The Federal Government has barred certain researchers from receiving federal grants after discovering that they had invented some of their results, and so on. This is not, however, the level of misconduct that we will discuss. (more…)

Tufts University Committee on Student Life head compares mockery of affirmative action preferences to”spray painting a swastika on a synagogue.”

Since CSL head (and prominent Democrat) Barbara Grossman saw fit to bring swastikas into the conversation…

Tufts U: “Labeling Islam violent is unacceptable in any way, shape, or form.”

May 25, 2007

Remember, Tufts University’s Committee on Student Life, chaired by prominent Democrat Barbara Grossman (wife of a former DNC chair) declared that “labeling Islam violent is unacceptable in any way, shape, or form.” Please remember this as you watch this excellent video.

Per Tufts University’s Committee on Student Life, this is NOT, repeat NOT, Islamic violence.

Tufts University Committee on Student Life:

“Labeling Islam violent is unacceptable in any way, shape or form.”
Tufts WTC

We previously reported how a Tufts University Committee on Student Life hearing condemned The Primary Source for “harassment and creating a hostile environment on campus through the publication of “Islam-Arabic Translation: Submission,” a commentary published in its April 11, 2007 edition that imitated the format of the MSA’s advertisement for events during Islamic Awareness Week.” The Primary Source and the Tufts Daily both allege that, during this hearing, Professor Barbara Grossman–a prominent Democratic Party donor–made remarks prejudicial to a fair hearing. She allegedly went so far as to compare the Primary Source’s criticism of affirmative action to “spray-painting a swastika on a synagogue.” Another CSL member stated that labeling Islam violent is unacceptable in any way, shape or form.
