Mitt’s Classless Exit, by Steve Rabin, aka Steve Rabincula (given NJDC’s aversion to crosses):
Mitt Romney dropped out of the Republican primary yesterday in the same manner in which he conducted his campaign: totally devoid of class and dignity.
From Mitt’s speech: “If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.”
It is speeches like this that epitomize everything that is wrong about American politics.
Fair is foul, and foul is fair to the National “Jewish” Democratic Council. To NJDC, stepping aside when it is clear that you can no longer win is “totally devoid of class” and “everything that is wrong about American politics.” We are sure that NJDC would like Romney to stay in a race he can no longer win only to drain resources from McCain while hopefully slinging mud at him in the bargain. Our preference is to leave that sort of thing to the Clinton and Obama campaigns, which accused each other of election misconduct and voter intimidation in Nevada while hurling not only mud but raw sewage at one another. Our side can sling this material during the general election without even getting our hands dirty, because it will be Clinton’s or Obama’s sewage as opposed to ours. This, of course, is what NJDC thinks of as high class as opposed to classless.
