Obama Smears his Grandmother for Political Gain

Obama’s Black Identity Politics is Consistent With Jeremiah Wright’s Hate Speech

If anyone believes that Barack Obama “just found out” about Jeremiah Wright’s vicious anti-American hate speech, we have a bridge in Brooklyn we would like to sell them. As shown by Obama’s own book Dreams From My Father, Obama’s deep involvement in Black identity politics–replace that with “White identity politics” to envision sheets, hoods, and burning crosses–is entirely consistent with his widespread involvement and association with racists, anti-Semites, and Catholic-haters. The bottom line is that Obama is not one of us and, by “us,” we mean mainstream America.

To begin with, Barack Obama must have known what Jeremiah Wright was when he joined the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC). As long ago as 1984, Wright accompanied Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam on a trip to Libya to visit the dictator Moammar Khadafy. When Obama joined TUCC, he therefore knew that the pastor consorted openly with a vicious racist, anti-Semite, and Catholic-hater while paying friendly calls on an Islamic supremacist dictator. Now let’s take a look at some content from Dreams From My Father.

It contradicted the morality my mother had taught me, a morality of subtle distinctions–between individuals of goodwill and those who wished me ill, between active malice and ignorance or indifference. I had a personal stake in that moral framework; I’d discovered that I couldn’t escape it if I tried. And yet perhaps it was a framework that blacks in this country could no longer afford; perhaps it weakened black resolve, encouraged confusion within the ranks. Desperate times called for desperate measures, and for many blacks, times were chronically desperate. If nationalism could create a strong and effective insularity, deliver on its promise of self-respect, then the hurt it might cause well-meaning whites, or the inner turmoil it caused people like me, would be of little consequence. If nationalism could deliver. As it turned out, questions of effectiveness, and not sentiment, caused most of my quarrels with Rafiq [a Black nationalist].–Dreams From My Father, pp. 199-200

It sounds like Obama’s only problem with Black Nationalism (insert “White Nationalism,” as in “Stormfront White Nationalist Community” to see how this sounds) was its effectiveness as opposed to right versus wrong: the same situational ethics that seem to guide all his decisions. Additional excerpts from Dreams From My Father reinforce the central role that black identity politics played in shaping Obama’s character.

…I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites… (page xv)I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though… (page 93) [http://www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov/streetterms/ByAlpha.asp?strTerm=B, “Blow” = “Cocaine; to inhale cocaine; to smoke marijuana; to inject heroin”]That was the problem with people like Joyce [a college classmate of Italian, African-American, Native American, and French ethnicity]. They talked about the richness of their multicultural heritage and it sounced real good, until you noticed that they avoided black people. …The truth was that I understood [Joyce], her and all the other black kids who felt the way she did. In their mannerisms, their speech, their mixed-up hearts, I kept recognizing pieces of myself. And that’s exactly what scared me. Their confusion made me question my own racial credentials all over again. …To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. (pages 99-100)

“[Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness] teaches me things,” I said. “About white people, I mean. See, the book’s not really about Africa. Or black people. It’s about the man who wrote it. The European. The American. A particular way of looking at the world. If you can keep your distance, it’s all there, in what’s said and what’s left unsaid. So I read the book to help me just understand just what it is that makes white people so afraid. Their demons. The way ideas get twisted around. It helps me understand how people learn to hate.” (page 103)

Pages 195-204: [Obama describes his relationship with Rafiq al-Shabazz, a self-proclaimed Black Nationalist]

Now let’s take a look at Obama’s speech in which he distances himself from Wright’s “God damn America” sermon.

But the truth is, that isn’t all that I know of the man. The man I met more than twenty years ago is a man who helped introduce me to my Christian faith, a man who spoke to me about our obligations to love one another; to care for the sick and lift up the poor. He is a man who served his country as a U.S. Marine; who has studied and lectured at some of the finest universities and seminaries in the country, and who for over thirty years led a church that serves the community by doing God’s work here on Earth – by housing the homeless, ministering to the needy, providing day care services and scholarships and prison ministries, and reaching out to those suffering from HIV/AIDS.

There is no doubt that various Ku Klux Klan leaders do volunteer work for their churches, coach Little League, and deliver food to (white) shut-ins when they are not out burning crosses and lynching Negroes, and it is worth remembering that Adolf Hitler was a decorated veteran who was also kind to animals. Jeremiah Wright deserves credit for the good things he has done, but he still comes across as, to quote Atlas Shrugs, a “hate-spewing imam.” More to the point, though, if Obama met Wright a little more than twenty years ago, it was well after Wright accompanied Louis Farrakhan to Libya. Obama therefore knew up front that his prospective minister associated openly with at least one very prominent racist, anti-Semite, and Catholic-hater.

Like other predominantly black churches across the country, Trinity embodies the black community in its entirety – the doctor and the welfare mom, the model student and the former gang-banger.

Who needs the Ku Klux Klan when we have Barack Obama to tell the world that “Trinity embodies the black community in its entirety?” A church whose pastor screams “God damn America” while suggesting that “white America” somehow deserved 9/11 is no more representative of African-Americans than the Ku Klux Klan is representative of mainstream Caucasians, or the National Jewish Democratic Council and its anti-Christian hate videos have anything to do with responsible Jews.

I can no more disown him [Wright] than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother – a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.

Now Obama is equating his hate-spewing minister to “the black community” while saying he can no more disown him than he can disown his white grandmother. Noting this statement from Dreams From My Father, “…I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites,” we suspect that Obama would indeed disown his white grandmother if he could. This would be entirely consistent with the black identity politics that seems to pervade his every decision and action. Furthermore, decent people don’t denounce their parents and grandparents in public, especially not for self-serving political gain.

The fact is that the comments that have been made and the issues that have surfaced over the last few weeks reflect the complexities of race in this country that we’ve never really worked through – a part of our union that we have yet to perfect. And if we walk away now, if we simply retreat into our respective corners, we will never be able to come together and solve challenges like health care, or education, or the need to find good jobs for every American.

The issues did not surface “over the last few weeks” any more than MoveOn.org “discovered” the vicious anti-Semitic and other forms of hate speech on its now-disgraced Action Forum in August 2006. Jeremiah Wright had already accompanied Louis Farrakhan to Libya when Obama joined his church. As reported ten months ago in “Obama’s Pastor is a Total Hater,” Wright’s long track record of racist, anti-American, and anti-Israel hate speech was already well known.

Now let’s look at Jeremiah Wright’s War in Iraq IQ Test, which he published more than five years ago. Are we to seriously believe Obama’s statement that he just found out about this stuff during the past few weeks?

      W a r o n I r a q I Q T e s tR e v . J e r e m i a h W r i g h tT r i n i t y U n i t e d C h u r c h o f C h r i s t , C h i c a g o

    F e b r u a r y , 2 3 2 0 0 3

Take the War on Iraq IQ Test

Do you know enough to justify going to war with Iraq?

    1. Q: What percentage of the world’s population does the U.S. have?

    A: 6% [correction - 4.8% of world’s population - 6.2 billion vs. 280 million]

    2. Q: What percentage of the world’s wealth does the U.S. have?

    A: 50% [correction - 22% of global GDP]

Jeremiah Wright apparently feels that the United States is somehow evil for creating 22% of the world’s GDP with only 4.8% of its population. It is telling that free nations like the United States, Israel, Japan, and so on have disproportionately high GDPs in comparison with dictatorships like Saudi Arabia and Iran, even though the latter have oil wealth. Israel’s per-person GDP is more than double that of oil-rich Saudi Arabia and Iran, probably because people who read books tend to be smarter and more productive than those who burn them.

…7. Q: What percent of US military spending would ensure the essentials of life to everyone in the world, according the UN?A: 10% (that’s about $40 billion, the amount of funding initially requested to fund our retaliatory attack on Afghanistan)

Jeremiah Wright seems to believe that we should sing Kumbaya with the perpetrators of 9/11, if we interpret the above correctly.

…14. Q: How many gallons of agent Orange did America use in Vietnam?A: 17 million.

Again, Wright focuses on how bad his own country is versus how bad the other side was. We remind him that the victorious North Vietnamese conducted mass murders of political opponents, while Pol Pot committed genocide in Cambodia. Then again, Barack Obama doesn’t have a real problem with genocide as shown by James Taranto’s “It Didn’t Happen:” Democrats go soft on crimes against humanity.”

…17. Q: How many casualties did the Iraqi military inflict on the western forces during the [first] Gulf War ?A: 018. Q: How many retreating Iraqi soldiers were buried alive by U. S. tanks with ploughs mounted on the front?

    A: 6,000

Again, Barack Obama’s mentor is looking for things to be wrong with the United States. The Hague and Geneva Conventions do not protect retreating enemy soldiers from attack; the laws of war say only that you can’t attack an enemy soldier after he surrenders.

…22. Q: Is there any proof that Iraq plans to use its weapons for anything other than deterrence and self-defense?A: No

Tell that to the people whom Saddam Hussein was throwing into plastic shredders while his murderous son Uday had young women kidnapped, whom he would then rape and torture to death for his personal entertainment. Uday (or was it Qusay?) also brutalized and tortured Iraqi soccer players who failed to win.

…30. Q: What was the child death rate in Iraq in 1989 (per 1,000 births)?A: 3831. Q: What was the estimated child death rate in Iraq in 1999 (per 1,000 births)?

    A: 131 (that’s an increase of 345%)

It would have helped if Saddam Hussein had not diverted oil-for-food money that could have been used for food and medical care for his people. Come to think of it, the UN was itself involved in this scandal.

…41. Q: How many UN resolutions did Israel violate by 1992?A: Over 6542. Q: How many UN resolutions on Israel did America veto between 1972 and 1990?

    A: 30+

    43. Q: How much does the U.S. fund Israel a year?

    A:$5 billion

    44. Q: How many countries are known to have nuclear weapons?

    A: 8

    45. Q: How many nuclear warheads has Iraq got?

    A: 0

    46. Q: How many nuclear warheads has US got?

    A: Over 10,000

    47. Q: Which is the only country to use nuclear weapons?

    A: The US

Jeremiah Wright thinks we should have sung “Kumbaya” with the perpetrators of Pearl Harbor, the Bataan Death March, and the Rape of Nanking. This is in fact entirely consistent with the sermon in which he said (five days after 9/11), “We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye. We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.”

    51. Q: Is Israel illegally occupying Palestinian land?A: Yes52. Q: Which country do you think poses the greatest threat to global peace: Iraq or the U.S.?

    A: ????

Regarding “Q: Which country do you think poses the greatest threat to global peace: Iraq or the U.S.? A: ????,” “God damn America” sums it up so much more simply and concisely.

Here is an official bulletin from TUCC, dated January 21 2007. Note that Obama made Wright his campaign’s spiritual advisor with the full knowledge that this is the sort of thing that Wright was doing and saying.

I use his words today on the third Sunday of a New Year to keep before you the painful truth of who we are and where it is we are in this racist United States of America! What’sgoin’ on?We have lost over 3,000 boys and girls in an illegal and unjust war, and the media is on a feeding frenzy about Barack Obama’s church. Where is the outrage about the 3,000 dead American military personnel and the 600,000 dead Iraqi civilians who are dead for no reason other than greed and ego? What’s goin’ on?…The reality, however, is that the entire war in Iraq and the larger “war on terror” have been based on lies, half-truths and distortions to serve the agenda of the United States imperialism.

“God damn America!” SAY it, Jeremiah, SAY it! “God damn America” is the common theme that runs through the sermons of Obama’s hate spewing pastor as opposed to a one-time indiscretion or outburst. The fact that this individual’s rhetoric and ideology appeal to Obama is entirely consistent with his open association with and even endorsement of racist, anti-Semitic, and/or anti-Catholic individuals and organizations. As just one example, the New Black Panther Party, whose ideology is (per the Anti-Defamation League) “A mix of black nationalism, Pan-Africanism and racist and anti-Semitic bigotry,” is still welcome (as of March 18 2008) at my.barackobama.com. Furthermore, people know it it there; our former screenshot shows that it had “366 points” but, as of March 18 2008, it has “396 points.”

It is also a matter of well established record that Barack Obama:

(1) Refused to use the word “reject” in conjunction with the support of Louis Farrakhan until Tim Russert and then Hillary Clinton cornered him during a televised debate. Obama’s reluctance to “reject” Farrakhan is entirely consistent with black identity politics and indeed black nationalist politics.

(2) Praised and endorsed Al Sharpton and his National Action Network, both of which have long records of inciting hatred of white people and especially Jews.

Obama and Sharpton

(3) Solicited and accepted the support of MoveOn.org, which has published an anti-Catholic hate cartoon along with a vicious insult to General David Petraeus. MoveOn.org also welcomed vicious anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic hate speech at its now-disgraced Action Forum.

Obama/Pope

The fact that Obama is “not one of us” is reinforced by the following picture, in which Obama’s hand signals (hands over crotch instead of hand over heart) reinforces his pastor’s attitude, “God damn America.” Obama has to choose between representing Black nationalists, the New Black Panther Party, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright, and similar entities and representing all Americans. Unless and until he chooses the latter, though, he is not qualified to serve even in the United States Senate.

And don’t forget:
Obama and Che Guevara

This is not mainstream America, or even respectable Blue State America. This is Barack Obama, black nationalist politics, “God damn America,” and “Hasta siempre commandante Che Guevara,” and it has no place whatsoever in our great nation.

Postscript

Obama finally made Jeremiah Wright into an “unperson” at his Web site, but here is a screenshot of a cached copy. We encourage our readers to download, copy, and circulate this as widely as possible.

UPDATE: WRIGHT CONSPIRACY THEORIES BLAME UNITED STATES OF “KKKA” FOR PEARL HARBOR, also says the U.S. Government “invented” the AIDS virus for use against minorities.

Here are excerpts from Wright’s sermons revealed by Fox News:”The government lied about Pearl Harbor. They knew the Japanese were going to attack. Government’s lied.””We’ve got a paranoid group of patriots in power that now, in the interest of homeland stupidity – I mean homeland security …”

“The government lied about the Tuskegee experiment. They purposely infected African-American men with syphilis …”

“Fighting for peace is like raping for virginity.”

“… what’s going on in white America, U.S. of KKKA …”

“Black men turning on black men – that is fighting the wrong enemy. You both are the primary targets in an oppressive society that sees both of you as a dangerous threat.”

“We cannot see how what we are doing is the same thing al-Qaida is doing under a different color flag … And guess what else. If they don’t find them some weapons of mass destruction, they going to do just like the LAPD and plant them some weapons of mass destruction.

“God damn America – that’s in the Bible – for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating us citizens as less than human. God damn America …”

…The pastor reportedly said in a sermon just after 9/11, “The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.”

Racism is not acceptable. Might be practiced but not acceptable or a badge of honor. So when Bill O’reilly talks about his racist grandmother -its a badge of honor. and When Ann Coulter talks about her racist dead father – gain badge of honor. You see this a lot. For people its their identity. As a white person, I’m not struggling with this.

Obama spoke of his White WASP grandmother whom he loved, as a point of reflection – that people can be white – have a black grandchild and still have the racist undercurrents. He didn’t speak it has a badge of honor. But as how this issue is confusing.

The irony is that the Rev. Wright by the looks of him obviously has white ancestry – around a lot longer than many people criticizing him. He has issues and did not crash the planes into the WTC, out a CIA spy and get us in to a WAR in Iraq. Don’t be ignorant to what is needed in order to defeat terrorism, we can’t do it alone.

And by the way the Che Guevera photo was not an official Obama office but someone who was volunteering out of their home.

Really, has 9/11 taught you anything??

  3. wingedhussar1683 Says:

    Chesterdean,

Who do you think did crash the planes into the Twin Towers?

The Che Guevara picture was NOT in a private home, it was in an office manned by volunteers.
